John’s first real flight in an airplane was at age 17 in the back seat of a USAF T-33 as a Basic Cadet at the USAFA. The following summer he went supersonic in the back of an F-101, and the next summer dropped bombs from the back seat of an F-4E. The game was on! He spent 24+ years in the USAF as a pilot flying the F-4, F-15, MiG-21, and MiG-23, including a tour as an instructor at the USAF Fighter Weapons School. His USAF experience included the Philippines and Korea, many stateside assignments, Germany and Europe, and throughout the Middle East during Desert Storm. In the civilian world, he has flown aerial survey, towed/flown/instructed gliders, and flown charter under both Parts 91 and 135. Currently, John flies a Falcon 7X both stateside and around the world for a private owner.
