Sean was born with a toy airplane in his hand. As a child, his dad used to take him to fly radio-controlled airplanes. Sean is a first generation pilot in his family. He was in the civil air patrol and started flying when he was 15. After high school, he enrolled at Metro State University where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Aviation Technology. After 4 years of flight training, he earned all of his certificates and became a flight instructor. Sean has flown at two different flights schools before finding his home school, Aspen Flying Club. His favorite airplane at Aspen is the Xtereme Decathlon.
“Flying was my biggest passion, until I started teaching. My number one objective as an instructor is to learn my student’s goals, and help guide them to success. There is no better feeling than when an examiner tells you ‘your student did great today.’ Flying can be very nerve wracking for students. I know because I’ve been one. My approach to teaching enforces the fun and joy of flying. If my students aren’t having fun, I’m not doing my job. My personal goals are to eventually fly for a great airline and continue becoming an aerobatic champion.”
